The ”Distillerie du Centre” in Limoges was founded in 1789, is the last heiress of a long tradition.
Although the city of Limoges, in middle of France, is especially well-known for its china!
Indeed during more than 150 years, from 1780 to 1930, there were permanently dozen of distilleries in Limoges. In 1900 for example there were 48, but today only one!
Seve Centrale had an alcoholic degree of 40°.
It was produced by double distillation of fruits and plants such as almond, apple, apple cores, walnut, vanilla, tea, iris,…then mixed with cognac and armagnac, and sweetened with syrup sugar.
It is aged in oak barrels of Limousin, to give it smoothness and roundless.
Jewel of the distillery, it won during two centuries, more than 30 national and international medals (Paris, London, Amsterdam,…)
When it is serves frozen, it exhales best its flavor.
